‘AI Filming’: The Production of Films Using Artificial Intelligence
Marcel Barsotti
■ Abstract
This lecture focuses on the production process behind a film created using artificial intelligence. When I made my first award-winning film, ‘Transformation’, in 2024, AI was still in its infancy, but it already held incredible potential for filmmakers. Now, in 2026, the technology has taken a quantum leap, and every conceivable film genre – from Nouvelle Vague to Westerns – can be professionally realized. However, it requires an enormous skill set to combine all traditional film crafts with this new technology to create a professional film. The world of tomorrow will be intertwined with AI film; technology cannot be stopped, yet we must always keep the ethical perspective in mind.
